In 1990-91, I started on around the world travel beginning in Asia. There was so very much to experience that I canceled my visits to Egypt, Israel, etc. This was a solo journey that took a year and a half. Still, this was not enough time!

To get to the point about my contribution to this exhibit: this work is about the dreams I had while traveling through Asia. I had the most colorful and surreal dreams that included the haunting scenes of whispers from moving shadows while hiking through rice fields. The early morning haunting--distant and melodic--prayers coming from the loudspeakers while in Muslim Malaysia, Yogyakarta, and Lombok; delicious scents of cardamom, chili, turmeric, and cinnamon, and there was so much more: a potpourri of exotic exhibits that enriched my sleep.

These new series are done because they have needed to become manifested in some physical form.

Also, our collaborative pieces were about creating a collage on a 45 record. While working on my Mexican "Iconografias," I accidentally placed the musical notes I was cutting for one of my Frida pieces on the record. My challenge was solved instantly!
